ABOUT OUR DMS PROGRAM

The Associate of Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program will prepare you to work closely with physicians to diagnose and treat cardiovascular medical conditions. You will learn how to use highly specialized ultrasound imaging equipment to evaluate the heart and vascular system, applying knowledge in human anatomy, pathology, equipment optimization and patient care skills. As advances in technology and the aging population in the U.S. continue to increase, the need for cardiovascular sonographers has grown.

Program Learning Goal

To prepare competent entry-level sonographers in the cognitive (knowledge), Psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains for the following concentrations it offers: Adult Cardiac sonography and Vascular sonography.
